Alternative Press recently published an article about why Bring Me The Horizon aren't a deathcore band anymore. To sum up the article: Bring Me The Horizon's members changed and grew as people and simply write different (and arguably better) material now. Just check out the difference between their most recent single, Throne, and their infamous single from eight years ago, Pray for Plagues:
Big difference...
The article ends with a great line penned by Tyler Sharp: "Instead of bashing BMTH for what they're not, let's learn to appreciate them for what they are: an incredible band that deserve your attention." This started me thinking about how a lot of individuals regularly bash bands for "selling out" or "changing their sound" and I am inclined to believe that it is unfair to bands to bash them for such behavior. Sure, some bands do sell out in a way, but can you blame them for wanting to make a living to survive in this world? Most of the time bands that are "selling out" are just so good they've finally become popular and along the way the members have grown and now write more "maturely" further pushing them towards greater success. The bottom line is that our favorite bands will change their sound because bands are made up of people and people change, grow, and go down different paths in life that lead to different inspirations. Let's all try to not bash bands for changing into something we don't want and "learn to appreciate them for what they are." (Of course if they start putting out music you simply don't like because it's not your cup of tea, that's fair - you're entitled to have your own opinions) Big thank you to Remo (http://www.remo.com/) for sending us a box of goodies! It means so much to have a significantly larger company give us, a much smaller and newer company, a helping hand. We are beyond stoked by this gesture. As a result, the next several Vratim Drum Shoe orders that come in will receive a free Remo drum key with their order (on top of the extra stuff we already always throw in)!! http://shop.vratim.com/ Be sure to get your order in before they're gone! Also, keep your eyes peeled for more cool things happening with Vratim. For the past (almost) month, we've been posting some different color ideas for our Drum Shoe on our social media to get an idea of what new colors you all want.
You have given us a lot of awesome feedback and ideas! We wish we could do every idea we've posted and every idea you have given us, but unfortunately we can't do all of them - yet. We're going to try our hardest to do as many as we can and of course we'll try to do the color choices you all like the most! We can't thank you enough for all the help and support we've received! In the mean time, here's a collection of all the different color options we've posted so far and a few extra ones we never posted: We have another endorsement announcement today! We would like to welcome James C. Knoerl (Musician) to the Vratim artist family! You can find all of his links on our website http://www.vratim.com/artists.html James is a very talented musician and works really hard just check this out: Be sure to like his page, subscribe to his YouTube channel, etc. Definitely worth following and keeping an eye on! We recently sent another pair of shoes to the UK. This time it was to a drummer that also runs a YouTube channel, Kyle Fummey. The review was completely his idea, he bought the shoes himself, and he does a quality, informative review of the shoes. Definitely check it out if you want to know more about our shoes from an secondary source! We're honored to announce that Doug Court of Sirens and Sailors is joining the Vratim family!
Be sure to catch them on Vans Warped Tour playing the Ernie Ball Stage from 7/14 - 8/8! Super stoked to be working with him - definitely give Sirens and Sailors a listen if you haven't yet. |
