Whether you need a more comfortable grip for playing barefoot, a grip that doesn't tear your socks, or to double down on the grip from the Vratim Drum Shoe, the Kick Grip is the answer!
The Kick Grip offers the same grip as traditional grip tape, but thanks to its soft texture it feels more comfortable for barefoot players and won't damage socks or shoes. It's even easy to clean. |

Below are instructions for how to apply the Kick Grip to your pedal(s). Depending on the make/model of your pedals, it may be easier to apply the Kick Grip while the pedal is disassembled. Please make sure to double-check fitment, placement, and/or outline prior to cutting and attaching the Kick Grip to your pedals. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Applying to Assembled Pedal:
- Carefully clean pedal footboard surface (refer to pedal manufacturer for proper cleaning techniques). Ensure no oil/residue or moisture is left behind on footboard surface.
- With adhesive backing not yet removed, position Kick Grip on footboard to test fitment and placement (optional: apply masking tape to footbaord edge before applying Kick Grip to protect footboard while cutting).
- Peel one (1) inch of the backing and apply Kick Grip to tip of footboard. Carefully continue to remove backing while pressing firmly until backing is removed and Kick Grip is applied.
- Using a fresh-bladed box cutter, single-edge razor blade, or a very sharp knife, carefully trim excess Kick Grip.
Applying to Disassembled Pedal:
- Disassemble/remove the footboard as per pedal manufacturer's instruction WARNING: be careful not to damage or lose any parts. If you do not have the proper tools or do not feel comfortable disassembling your pedal - STOP, DO NOT ATTEMPT.
- Carefully clean pedal footboard surface (refer to pedal manufacturer for proper cleaning techniques). Ensure no oil/residue or moisture is left behind on footboard surface.
- Place Kick Grip on a flat surface with the adhesive side facing up. Align footboard on top of Kick Grip and trace the footboard outline with a pencil, pen, or marker.
- Carefully cut along the outline using sharp scissors. Check fitment after cutting.
- Peel one (1) inch of the backing and apply Kick Grip to edge of footboard and continue to remove backing while pressing firmly until backing is removed and Kick Grip is applied (trim as needed).
- Reassemble pedal.
Removal:
- Lift a corner or narrow area and slowly pull Kick Grip away from the pedal footboard.
- Remove any adhesive residue with adhesive remover (a non-metallic scraper can be used to help remove any stubborn adhesive).
